Engineering Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is emerging as a powerful alternative for the treatment and management of immune-regulated diseases. Our laboratory works at the intersection of drug delivery and materials engineering to develop next-generation approaches in immunotherapy.

Targeted Drug Delivery

Immunological targets are of emerging interest in a broad range of therapeutic applications. We develop and apply new approaches in drug delivery to selectively target immune cells within their site effector function and/or differentiation/regulation, i.e. within peripheral diseased versus associated lymphoid tissues.

Engineering Immunomodulatory Biomaterials

Biomaterials are used in therapeutic scenarios to both activate and dampen innate immune response. We study the influence of biomaterial chemistry on immunogenicity with the goal of developing design principles and technologies with improved immunomodulatory activity.
